We’re Sprinting Through Our Lives and Losing Our Humanity
AI spits out words faster than we can think.
Platforms train us to scroll before we even feel.
Every day, more of what makes us human gets flattened into “content.”
And the things that actually matter — the pause before a leap, the courage to keep showing up, the messy middle where meaning is made — are disappearing without a trace.
After publishing 17 Field Notes — with 5 more in production — I’ve realized now more than ever how important this work is.

Because not being seen, heard, or understood is slowly killing us.
The Field Year
Today I’m launching The Field Year — a one-time, 12-month journey to build a public archive of the real work behind the work.
→ 12 months in the field
→ Across the country
→ A living record of how we actually create, connect, and endure
→ Culminating in a gathering in NYC where we can stand in the record together
We can either build this archive together now, or lose the blueprint for how we endure and connect in a world moving too fast to notice.
The Ask
People are already stepping in, supporting where they can — and that’s exactly how this should work. I don’t want this project to rest on a few big checks. I want hundreds, even thousands, of us to give what we can and carry it together.
Because The Field Year isn’t about me. It’s about us. It’s about leaving behind a record of connection in a time when it’s being erased.
If you’ve ever wanted proof that we’re not alone in the messy middle, this is your chance to help create it.
Invest here.
And for those in a position to invest at a higher level: contributions of $2,500 or more come with a commissioned Field Note of your own. That’s the same price people have already paid for this work.
If you’ve ever felt seen by Field Notes, or wished someone would stop long enough to see you — this is the moment.
The Field Year is our chance to leave behind a record that says: we were here, we created, we cared, we endured.
Let’s build it together.
